Brief description of activities conducted	Presentation delivered with an international outlook on the basis of work carried out in the DEFINE project focusing on strategies for efficient funding of higher education in Europe. Particular emphasis on: performance-based funding allocation models university financial management
Participants targeted	About 50 participants, including academic staff members from universities in Tirana, Elbasan, Shkodra, Korca, Gjirokastra, Vlora, members of the National Commission on the Reform of Higher Education, as well as representatives from the EU Delegation and from the Albanian Ministry of Education and Sports.
Main ‘take-aways’ from the perspective of the expert	The seminar highlighted the characteristics of the higher education funding system in Albania and the challenges and opportunities created by the recently adopted regulatory framework. The focus was therefore mostly on practical implementation modalities. The seminar conclusions were structured in the form of recommendations to be shared with the Ministry of Education and Sports and pertinent government agencies.
