Report of the EU-Southern Mediterranean Seminar on recognition of credits and qualifications (June 2015)

In the framework of a strengthened European Neighbourhood policy, specifically EU-Southern Mediterranean cooperation, since 2012 the Directorate General for Education and Culture (DG EAC) holds a dialogue with Southern Mediterranean countries on higher education policies and programmes. Next to the bi-annual policy dialogue meetings, a range of seminars have been organised on specific topics.

In 2015 an EU-Southern Mediterranean Seminar on Recognition of Credits and Qualifications was organized, as these topics represent the basis of any successful mobility scheme between the EU and its partners. Participants of the seminar exchanged information on best practices and tools of credit transfer systems at university level and on mechanisms for the transportability of qualifications put in place at their respective national levels. More information is available in the seminar report.

The third policy dialogue with Southern Mediterranean countries on higher education will take place in July 2016.
