This regional event will be attended by HERE from Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia and Palestine. It aligns with the national work plan of these countries in which both entrepreneurship as well as reforming and/or modernizing technical education are strategic goals. In this context, different actions have already been carried out, such as the transfer of responsibility for technical education to the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in countries such as Lebanon, Tunisia and Egypt, and the development of a mapping and peer review of the governance of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) by the Education Training Foundation (ETF) with the GEMM National Committee in Palestine.
The purpose of this regional TAM, which will be held next 1-2 November, 2018 in Aswan, Egypt, will be to address issues such as:
Iñaki Peña, Professor at Deusto University and principal investigator of the research team “Innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainability” will present at this event, focusing on entrepreneurship skills and helping partner countries to adopt a new entrepreneurial concept, plans and activities related to the technical education sector. In addition, Prof. Martt Majuri, Research Director of the Research Unit for Professional Excellence at the Häme University of Applied Sciences, and the Professional Teacher Education Unit (HAMK), Germany, will introduce technical education best practices and provide insight on incorporating entrepreneurship in technical education.
